YASUYUKI ISHII

Tokyo, Japan
"I want to create distinctive clothes that energize people, or make them feel excited"
In 1987, Ishii received the prestigious Yamamoto Kansai Prize. He initially worked for Guy La Rouche in Japan before venturing into the world of fashion by launching his own eponymous label in 1996.
Ishii has always been known for his daring and unconventional approach, a trait that originated during his early career as a ready-made artist in the 1980s. His quest for fresh mediums of creation and expression ultimately led him to transition into the fashion industry. There, he established two distinct brands, Yasuyuki Ishii For Men and Autre-Y for women, alongside the creation of a boutique shortly thereafter.
